Waiorongomai Station has been owned and farmed by the Matthews family for 6 generations. Charlie and Karla are the current 'caretakers'of Waiorongomai with their children Josh, Willie and Greta and with close support from Charlie's parents Raymond and Susie.
The farm is situated beneath the Rimutaka Ranges in the Southern Wairarapa and lies alongside the shores of Lake Wairarapa near the country town of Featherston. The Cook Strait and the mountains of the South Island can be clearly viewed from the southern hilltops of the farm.
Waiorongomai is a place that has been shared and enjoyed by many who appreciate the beauty of the farming landscape and the unique history of "The Land and the People".
The Matthews family are now offering the opportunity to stay on Waiorongomai Station in the beautiful homestead or cottages and enjoy the magic of a place that is at the heart of this iconic New Zealand Sheep and Beef Station.
